I'm irreverent!
This may not be funny to anyone else, but I was literally in tears during Sydney's prayer this evening. I tried so hard not to laugh out loud, but I honestly could not help it! Here's what happened: Syd was saying her bedtime prayers and Brian and I were kneeling with her by her bed. She said the normal stuff and then said, "Please bless us to eat something good like raspberries for breakfast tomorrow. Raspberries are berries and are good for you...." Then she continued on with her prayer, but I missed the rest of it. See, earlier this afternoon a very nice lady in our ward brought us a large container of fresh raspberries. I told Sydney she could have some for breakfast. Ever since school started she has been in 'explanation mode.' She explains everything to us, step by step. It just struck me as funny that she was explaining raspberries to Heavenly Father. Before Brian could say our family prayer I had to stop and compose myself for a few minutes. But, I didn't feel to bad because I could Brian was having a hard time too, but he didn't laugh during his daughter's prayer! At the end of Brian's prayer I was still having a hard time controlling myself so Brian prayed for "Mommy to be reverent!" That did it, I started laughing all over again. Some kind of example I am!

Oh my Gosh. I love every one of your stories on your blog. The prayer one is really funny....i have a hard time not laughing during prayers, i dont know why though, so i can relate.
I really like that you are in PTO. I secretly always felt really cool that my mom helped out at the school, because a lot of parents jsut dont care, so its really good that you are i think.
And, those pictures of syds first day are so cute, even if it is a freaking cute "mommy shirt".
This happens to me almost on a nightly basis. Kids have the most adorable prayers. I love hearing the things they come up with.
That is too funny! There is numerous times that I have had a hard time keeping the laughing in during the prayer.
That's funny and cute! I probably would've had a hard time too!:)
I love that story. Sydney is so funny. Crazy that Sydney is in school already. We are going to be in Idaho Falls in October for a day. Hope we can see you.
I had to make another comment. Peyton is so cute. I haven't seen her since she was tiny. She is a year now right? Also, how unfair that she has so much more hair than Gabby. :) Your girls look great!
How funny! I can relate, sometimes kids say the funniest things in their prayers. I loved Syd's though. good for you for being on the PTO. I was shocked when I was the only one that signed up to help in Hannah's class this year! crazy huh!
Oh little Syd... of course SHE would pray for that! ha ha I love that story, and you are so NOT irreverent! :) I guess I am in trouble, cuz even now, I laugh sometimes when it's just me and Brade praying.. Ahhh just wait til I have kids! I will be the worst of them all! I also LOVE the pics of Payton with the pudding! she is getting big and her hair is getting long!!!!!! Maybe we'll see you this weekend, We will be up friday night for tanner's reception , that is saturday!
that is super cute. i think heavenly father was probably laughing right along with you - i know he's got a sense of humor and loves what our children say! i keep a journal of the things my children say and there are plenty of sweet and even hilarious prayers in there. classic!
