I have two completely random things to share with you all today.
First, I got in the shower (at noon) but, I did get a shower today! I love to get in the shower when I know both my girls are content (eating) and no one is crying. It was wonderful. I was thoroughly enjoying my nice warm shower. No screaming, no interruptions, it was my little piece of heaven for the day. Then I turned the water off. Immediately I hear screaming and knocking on the door. I opened the door, quickly grabbed a towel and headed into the dining where both girls were. First thing I saw: Syd under the table, hiding behind the table cloth saying, "I didn't do it." Yeah, probably not a good sign. Second thing I saw: Payton in her high chair with her head down, screaming bloody murder. Great. What a way to end my relaxing shower. So, I dripped water everywhere as I picked up Payton and calmed her down. I still don't know what happened. I think for once I am better off in the dark. All is well that ends well. No blood, no foul. Does that make me an insensitive mom?
Second, I have left over roast beef from Sunday dinner and I decided to make shredded beef taco salad for dinner tonight. I love the taco salad bowls made out of tortillas. Guess where I buy them? You'll never guess, I'll just tell you. ARCTIC CIRCLE! They give me strange looks every time I order just the shells, but they always sell them to me for 50 cents each! What a deal! What a dinner! I am challenging any of you that live in a town with an Arctic Circle (or similar restaurant) to order the taco salad shells just so you can get the crazy look from the teenager running the drive thru!
That's all I've got for now. But, having experienced my random thoughts, I bet you can't wait for more! HaHaHa!
P.S. I typed this one-handed because Payton is having an unhappy evening! Pure talent!

Sue-Sue Sayings
Sydney: "Dad, is tomorrow fast Sunday?"
Brian: "No."
Sydney: "So, is it a slow Sunday."
Brian had a laugh as he explained that one.
....
Sydney: "Did you know I was running out of tooth paste and so you bought me a new one?"
Brian: "Yep."
Sydney: "Oh, Brian!"
We really are trying to get her to call us Mom and Dad, but sometimes she still says Dayna and Brian. I guess that is what happens when you're an only child for 4 years.
....
Famous sayings:
"I know!!" (She really does think she knows everything.)
"Let's pretend...." (Our days are full of make-believe. We range from nurses to jungle explorers.)
"Did you know...." (Always an interesting animal fact from Sydney.)

Take me out to the ball game
Thursday (yesterday) was Family Night at Melaleuca Field. We decided to take Sydney to a baseball game. It cost us each $1 to get in and $1 for each of us to get a hot dog and drink. Quite a deal! Sydney was so excited all day long. Mostly I think she was just excited to be going out by herself with us (we left Payton at Grandma's). During the bottom of the 2nd Inning Sydney very quietly leaned over and whispered in my ear, "I wish I could just go to Grandma's." What??? I thought we were having fun. We were eating cotton candy and hot dogs and coloring-- we brought back up. I couldn't believe she was bored already. She lasted until the bottom of the 5th and then we decided to go. Our decision was based on two things. Number 1: It was already past both girls' bedtime. Number 2: The jerks behind us were drunk and swearing. Yeah, what a 'family night' at the ball park! We did have fun for the first half of the game and when Sydney is a little older I'm sure she'll enjoy it more, too.

5K Results
So, I will post pictures as soon as I get them on my computer. But, overall the run was great. It was hard, but we all did well. My sisters, cousin and my friends from the ward. We all finished pretty close to the same time. My final time was 36min 11 sec. I know, not very impressive, but it was my personal best time. I think my sisters and I will do another 5K in August in Pocatello. Next year I may even attempt a 10K. Yikes! We will see....
Frustration!
Okay, here is yet another Sydney story. I think this has happened to most parents, but it was our first time. We were putting Syd to bed last night and Brian noticed writing on her wall. In big capital letters "SYDNEY H" written in pen. Brian asked Syd why she wrote on her wall. Her response, "I didn't do it!" Brian was laughing! He said, "Syd, no one else would write 'SYDNEY H' in your handwriting, on your wall. Why did you do it? She finally fessed up and said she didn't know why she did it, but she was sorry. She cried and cried until we said a prayer and then all was good. What would we do without the gospel? Oh, question for any and everyone: How do I get the stupid pen off the wall? I tried my magic eraser, and it got a little off, but I am afraid of taking paint off the wall. Any ideas? Oh, the things we go through with our children. But, then they turn around and are so cute and so sweet! I just can't stay mad for long.
The attitude of a 16 year old stuck in a 5 year old body...
I debated a lot about whether or not to put this post on our blog. I even asked a few of you what you thought. But, I decided it was such a learning experience for me that I would share it. Here is what happened. I was making dinner a few nights ago and Sydney asked for a cracker. She wanted a "big" graham cracker-- you know, full size. I gave her the cracker and not even 30 seconds later she dropped it and it broke in half. She brought me the pieces and said, "I can't eat this, I need another one." I said, "No. We are not wasting a perfectly good graham cracker." She started stomping up and down and throwing a fit. I told her to go to her room and she yelled, "No! I don't want to!" So, I helped her to her room :) I put her on her bed and told her to stay there until I came to talk to her. As I walked out (She was still screaming) and shut the door this is what I heard: "Do you want a piece of me? No, I don't think so!" Yeah, I was mad. I must have had the look of death on my face because when I opened her door Syd immediately said, "Just let me say, I am sorry." At that point I was 50% angry and 50% trying to keep the laughter in my head. I took her in the bathroom and washed out her mouth with soap. All the while telling her, "When we say bad things our mouths are dirty and we need to make it clean." She was kicking and screaming the whole time. After the whole ordeal was over, Syd calmed down and sat next to me and said she was sorry. She is such a good little girl and she feels so bad when she does something bad. I don't know if I handled the situation correctly, but I did the best I could. Oh, just a note of interest. Brian figured out where Syd got her little saying from, The Bee Movie. The tennis playing boyfriend says it. I don't know how she takes phrases and then uses them in the correct context. It is horribly smart!

Happy Father's Day
I do not have any pictures at the moment, but I had to write a little about my wonderful husband, Brian. First, he is an amazing husband and daddy. He works so hard to provide for us and still finds energy to help around the house without being asked and without complaining. On his days off (when he could be sleeping in) he gets up and makes us all a big breakfast and tells me to go back to bed. Brian spoils his girls! (By girls I mean me and Syd and Payt.) The poor guys has been surrounded by girls his whole life, but he doesn't complain, he just patiently deals with the accompanying moods and hormones!
Brian, I want you to know that I love you and appreciate all you do for our little family. Happy Father's Day!
