So, Payton is now just over 8 months old. She is now at the whiny stage. You know the one. I can see this going through her mind, "I want to move, I am tired of laying down and falling over and bumping into the piano bench." All she wants is to walk, crawl and sit up without falling over all the time. I have found two things that are saving my sanity.
Advertisement #1: Jeep Liberty Renegade Walker. Yeah, sounds high tech. Not so much. But, it is awesome. She can only make it move on hard floors (so only when I want her to) and it has a steering wheel that makes all sorts of cute (annoying) sounds. I bought it when Syd was a baby and we have definitely gotten our money's worth. Now, I know that walkers have been labeled "dangerous," but I have decided that anything is dangerous for an infant without supervision. So, I recommend this "dangerous" item to any of my friends because I know you are all responsible parents.
Advertisement #2: The Bumbo. I had heard of this a long time ago, but never really checked it out. What was I thinking?? My wonderful friend, Shannon, gave me hers. I don't care how much they are it is totally worth it! For those of you who do not know, the Bumbo is like a little seat. It helps babies sit up. It doesn't have buckles, but Payton cannot get out of it. It is light and easy to transport, but Payton cannot tip it over. It is durable and wipes clean very easily. WOW! It's the miracle of the baby world. A lot of times baby stuff is a waste of money (monitors, for example) but these two things (along with the swing and baby seat) are, in my humble opinion, essential.

bumbo... until she flips herself out of it! watch out for that! Cy almost went off the counter. I know, don't put it on the counter, but that was when he didn't know how... Kristy will probably agree! So good to hear from you regularly!!!!!!!
Well I have to disagree with you...I love my baby monitor! It allows us to go downstairs when Emily is asleep and take our monitor and not worry about her. We also do alot of yard work and if we are outside I can take it and not have to worry about going in my house several times with muddy feet. But the other 2 sound awesome! I will have to remember them. How are you guys lately??
Hey there Dayna
Remember me? I found your blog on Brook Nielson's site. I was reading about your attempt at the Dam Marathon. That's great. Jordan and I are going to run a charity race this Saturday and I must say that I am in the same boat. I'll be happy if I can last the whole 3 miles. We were going to try the 6 mile one, but why set yourself up for failure, right? Besides, I know my knees wouldn't hold up. Well, it was good to read about you. Take care
Jenny
Dayna we really missed you last night at work. I hope your back is doing better. I really enjoyed the post about say what? Great idea, it is so easy to forget the cute things kids say.
Glad you are enjoying the bumbo seat. I absolutely loved it. I would have to agree with all of your picks.
I just have to say that I'm so glad I'm not a baby anymore - their world must be so boring! I love your picks...I just can't get myself to spend the money on the Bumbo but I use my friend's whenever I'm at her house. My new favorite is the Learning Caterpillar that teaches numbers and colors. I'm sure Bryson doesn't understand, but he likes the sing-song voice:)
Dayna,
I have a toy box that Grandpa Taylor made when Karen was young. Michelle had it for a while and I have had it for about 5 or 6 years. It is now pink and white, and I need to get rid of it so I can finish my basement. Do you want it? If not, I am going to give it to DI I think. It is about 4 feet high and 3 ft. wide. Let me know.
Love,
Amber
I'm sold. I'm def. buying a Bumbo for the next baby! Hope you guys are doing great! I miss my little exercise moms! How's your back feeling?
